From download to first payment

    Click your platform

    Installer downloads from the Lightning Pay CDN — a signed, reproducibly-built release.

    Run the installer

    macOS: drag to Applications. Windows: accept the signed SmartScreen prompt. Linux: chmod +x the AppImage.

    Open the app

    Choose Create new wallet or Restore from seed.
  4. 4

    Write your 12 words on paper

    Confirm three. Set a PIN. Never screenshot the seed.

    You're done

    The wallet is ready to receive Bitcoin or Lightning payments.

Verify what you downloaded
Every release is signed with the Lightning Pay release key and built reproducibly from source. Compare the SHA-256 hash against the value posted on the releases page and verify the GPG signature against the key on our keybase profile. Reproducible builds mean you can re-compile from source and get a byte-identical artifact.
